US SEC set to hire head investment management regulator

The US Securities and Exchange Commission is set to appoint Dalia Blass head of its investment management division.

Blass currently works at Ropes & Gray, but has previously worked in the division she is being tapped to lead, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The division is responsible for mutual funds, ETFs, hedge funds and private equity funds, among others.

Blass’s husband has recently stepped down as general counsel for trade body the Investment Company Institute.

The appointment is yet to be confirmed by the SEC.
