Tilney Bestinvest has appointed former Julius Baer managing director Alan Edwards to the newly created role of head of investment management for England.
Edwards, a former professional rugby league player, will be based in Liverpool, and will also take responsibility for the group’s teams in London and Birmingham. He will sit on the executive board.
Before Julius Baer, Edwards was head of Barclays Wealth’s regional business in Manchester and Liverpool. He has also held senior positions at Coutts and HSBC.
Chief executive of Tilney Bestinvest Peter Hall said: “In recent years we have assembled what I believe is an outstanding management team at the business and I am confident that as part of the leadership team Alan will play a pivotal role in the continued success of the businesses.”
In February, Tilney Bestinvest announced it was acquiring Ingenious Asset Management taking its total assets under management to £11.2bn.
