Titcomb replaced former chief executive Mike Balfour, who announced his departure from Thomas Miller in November after five years in the position. Balfour remained at the firm until this month.

Titcomb left Brown Shipley in August last year as part of a reshuffle of the business.

Among his previous positions Titcomb was group chief executive of Sanlam Private Investments UK, group chief executive of the Ansbacher Group and managing director for retail fund administration at the Bank of New York.

Titcomb says: “Thomas Miller Investment has ambitious plans, considerable potential and a strong existing team. I am excited to be given the opportunity to lead the business at this time and to oversee the next phase of its development”.
