Smith & Williamson has promoted Daniela Glover as head of financial services in the firm’s London team.

Glover has been with the group since 2002, becoming a partner of the firm in 2006. She has been a financial planner throughout her time at S&W working as a financial adviser on pensions, retirement planning and divorce.

The firm’s London team is made of 34 staff, including nine partners and directors.

Smith & Williamson national head of the financial services business Peter Maher says: “The financial services business is an essential part of Smith & Williamson’s offering to private clients and their business interests and it’s great news that Daniela is taking on this important new position.”

Glover says: “Given the vast amount of legislative change affecting pensions, tax and financial planning in the last few years, individuals are increasingly looking at independent and fee-based advice to help them navigate the complex rules.

“As a result, we’ve seen a major increase in demand for our advice, both from individuals and businesses, and given the current environment this looks set to continue.”
