Standard Life Investments has launched an American Equity Income fund for UK-based investors.
Scott Eun will manage the equity income Oeic, supported by Warren Gibbon and the broader 10-person strong US equity team, based in Boston.
SLI’s head of US equities Jeff Morris says: “Although the US is not always synonymous with income investing, there are a number of companies that have delivered stable income streams and are growing dividends.
“There’s also a broad spread of sectors in the US that offer income-yielding opportunities, with over 80 per cent of companies in the S&P500 currently paying a dividend.”
The fund will invest across approximately 60 dividend-generating US stocks aiming to produce higher dividend yields than the S&P500.
SLI’s bottom-up approach will target high dividend, dividend growth and opportunity stocks.
Fund manager Eun already manages core US Equity funds and previously worked with Lehman Equity Strategies before joining SLI in 2007.
Gibbon already manages the US Equity portfolio of two pooled pension multi-asset funds.
