Standard Life Investments has boosted its ESG investment team with two new roles that will help the investment manager further integrate responsible investment considerations into its wider investment process.
Marc Brammer and Sophie Rahm join as responsible investment analysts reporting to head of responsible investment Amanda Young.
They will also be responsible for engaging with companies on environmental and social issues.
Young says SLI is committed to being a responsible investor and that the appointments would see the asset manager further integrate ESG considerations into the wider investment process.
“ESG considerations have grown in importance over the last decade, as more investors become aware of the significance of how human rights, labour, environmental and business ethics impact on corporate conduct,” Young says.
“We believe that companies concerned about the long-term interests of their shareholders should manage relationships with employees, suppliers and customers, and consider the long-term impact of their actions on the environment and society as a whole.”
