Schroders has today announced the launch of its Global Multi Credit fund to be led by Patrick Vogel.

The unconstrained strategy will invest actively across investment grade, high yield, emerging markets, ABS, municipals and convertibles.

Vogel, who is Schroders’ head of European credit, says: “There is a strong demand for flexible credit strategies aiming for total returns.”

Global head of distribution John Troiano says the fund will provide diversified credit with a proven investment process.

“Some investors are seeking to de-risk their portfolios while asking their bond investments to work much harder to generate returns and this fund offers a flexible active approach that has the potential to deliver a strong risk return ratio that will meet the needs of clients.”

The launch follows last month’s $4bn (£2.7bn) deal by Schroders to buy the fixed income team from US-based Brookfield Investment Management.
