Sarasin & Partners chief steps down after 10 years

HandshakeSarasin & Partners’ Guy Monson has stepped down as managing partner, being replaced by chief operating officer Guy Matthews.

Monson has been in the role for 10 years, but will now focus on his position as chief investment officer, continuing to lead investment strategy at the firm.

Matthews has been with Sarasin for 22 years, becoming chief financial officer in 2002 and then chief operating officer since 2010. He will be replaced by head of operations Tim Temple.

Matthews has also previously been chairman of the FSA’s Smaller Businesses Practitioner Panel and a member of the FSA’s Practitioner Panel.

Monson joined Sarasin in London in 1984, becoming manager of the flagship GlobalSar range of products in 1988.

In 2007 Guy was made chief executive of Sarasin Chiswell and subsequently managing partner of Sarasin & Partners.
