Sanlam Four has appointed Francois Kotze from Rathbones Brothers as assistant manager on its Strategic Bond fund.
Kotze was a fixed income analyst at Rathbones and had previously been a senior credit and macro analyst at Sanlam Private Investments.
Craig Veysey, lead manager of the Sanlam Strategic Bond fund, says Kotze’s appointment boosts the team’s ability to seek out undervalued opportunities, primarily within the higher credit quality bond universe.
The fund has delivered a 15.2 per cent return over one year to 30 June 2017, against 6.8% for the IA £ Strategic Bond sector over the same period, according to FE.
Over three years, it has delivered 27.6 per cent versus 12.6 per cent for the sector.
It primarily invests in investment grade government and corporate bonds and supplements this with an actively managed tactical overlay strategy.
