Former OMGI fixed income manager Russ Oxley has joined Cameron Hume in Edinburgh.
Oxley, who left OMGI a year ago in “a difference in opinion”, will develop strategic investment ideas at the fixed income specialist, which serves institutional investors.
He joins on a consultancy basis through his Edinburgh-based management company Avrox Investment Solutions.
Oxley says Cameron Hume are at an “exciting stage in their evolution”.
“They are a small but highly ambitious asset management firm and I’m confident I can assist in helping them as they move to the next level of their development.”
Oxley was head of fixed income absolute return at OMGI and joined from Ignis Asset Management where his team managed the £4bn Absolute Return Government Bond fund.
Guy Cameron, a former partner at Baillie Gifford, and Christian Torkington, who held senior roles at Barclays, Standard Life and Scottish Widows, founded Cameron Hume in 2011.
It manages $700m on behalf of South African insurer Sanlam and has signed distribution agreements with Australia’s AFM Investment Partners and Sweden’s Nordicus Capital.
