Quilter Cheviot has announced that Antony Webb has returned to the company just over a year after he departed for Investec Wealth & Investments.
Webb joins the managed portfolio service, where he had previously worked at the Old Mutual Wealth-owned company.
Webb says he is happy to once again be part of the team, which currently manages £1.2bn on behalf of clients. “This new role will enable me to expand the direct interaction with advisers and clients that I enjoy,” he says.
The role will involve exploring new opportunities as part of the broader Old Mutual Wealth multi-asset capability, Webb says.
The investment manager will report to lead portfolio manager Simon Doherty, who says Webb brings a fresh perspective and ability to challenge established processes and explore new ideas from an investment perspective following his return from Investec .
Doherty, who is also chair of the investment fund committee, adds: “In spite of increased competition, we see tremendous opportunity ahead for our MPS range as advisers continue to adapt their business models, outsourcing investment management so that they can focus on financial planning.”
Quilter Cheviot’s MPS range includes seven traditional products and four lower cost index strategies catering to a variety of risk profiles.
