Psigma Investment Management has appointed Sanjeev Chopra to become its new investment director.

Chopra joins from HSBC, where he had worked for almost two decades, most recently as client director at HSBC Global Asset Management.

Joining in January, he will report to chief executive John Howard-Smith.

Howard-Smith says: “We have invested heavily in our investment team over the last few years, ensuring that we continually strengthen our team and proposition. Despite challenging market conditions, we have strong ambitions to grow our business in the coming years.”

He adds that Chopra brings a “wealth of industry knowledge” that will complement the firm’s core investment proposition of delivering “real” inflation plus returns, “rather than benchmarking ourselves against indices that we feel are less relevant for clients”.
