Pimco has appointed Alice Cavalier to its alternatives team as it continues to grow the team.

Cavalier, who becomes senior vice president, will focus on stressed and distressed investments in Europe.

Earlier this year, Pimco appointed Lionel Laurant as executive vice president and distressed credit portfolio fund manager in the team, while Paul Vosper became executive vice president and real estate strategist.

Laurant says: “Clients are continuing to diversify in their search for yield and alternative investment strategies are in high demand.  We see excellent opportunities in the distressed credit market and expect this to continue for some time.”

Cavalier joins from Bayside Capital – a distressed debt and special situations affiliate of private equity firm HIG Capital.

She was previously an analyst in the leverage and acquisition finance department at Morgan Stanley.
