Morgan Stanley Investment Management has nabbed Max Harper from Janus Henderson for a senior sales role on the UK discretionary distribution team.

A spokesman says the UK is an important wholesale market for MSIM and that Harper’s appointment helps to enhance its presence.

Harper will report to Rob Lunn, head of the UK and Ireland discretionary business at MSIM.

At Janus Capital, which completed its merger with Henderson Global Investors last week, Harper covered UK discretionary clients.

Last week Principal Global Investors announced Janus Capital sales director Alan Glendon would join as director of UK fund distribution.

In February Schroders hired Henderson Global Investors’ Chris Paine as a fund manager on its Global Income portfolio management team, while GAM hired Matthew Beesley, also of Henderson, as head of equities.
