M&G Investments has announced that Sam Ford is to become manager of the UK Select fund following the departure of incumbent Mike Felton, who is leaving the firm after 11 years.
Ford will takeover the £598m fund in January. Until then it will be managed by co-deputy managers Garfield Kiff and Rory Alexander.
The fund will continue to invest in UK companies with a bottom-up approach and a concentrated portfolio.
M&G chief investment officer Graham Mason says since joining M&G in 2014, Ford has “made his mark as an astute investor”.
Mason thanked Felton for his contribution to M&G and wished him the best for the future.
Prior to joining M&G, Ford worked at Alliance Trust for eight years.
