Manulife Asset Management has appointed Neil Summers its head of client service and sales support for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Summers joins from Aberdeen Asset Management, where he had worked for 12 years, most recently in a similar role as head of client service for the EMEA region.
The Canadian firm, which officially launched in the UK asset management arm several weeks before the Brexit referendum, says Summers will build a team throughout the region to support wholesale and institutional clients.
Summers will be based in the UK and report to head of global distribution services Lauren Fleming.
Global head of distribution for Manulife Asset Management Claude Chene says: “This is an important hire, enabling us to work in close partnership with institutions and wholesale investors, as we continue to provide them with investment capabilities that help address complex issues in uncertain markets.”
Before Aberdeen, Summers, who has 20 years experience in the industry, worked at Deutsche Asset Management.
