Manager of £1.8bn JOHCM UK Opportunities fund to retire

Corporate-Finance-Business-Businessmen-Hire-Appointment-700x450.jpgJ O Hambro Capital Management’s John Wood, manager of the £1.8bn JOHCM UK Opportunities fund, is retiring from the firm in September.

Wood’s co-managers Rachel Reutter and Michael Ulrich will assume control of the fund and the segregated portfolios with support from analyst Todd King. Wood will oversee the transition until September.

Reutter and Ulrich have been co-managers since 2012 and 2015 respectively, and will maintain the same investment philosophy and strategy the fund has used since it launched in 2005; investing in long-term growth stocks with strong franchises and robust balance sheets with attractive valuations.

Ken Lambden, JOHCM Group CEO, says: “John has generated excellent returns for our clients over the past 11 years. He has always invested with conviction and been prepared to swim against the tide. We thank him for his tremendous contribution.

“John has built a strong team around him. Rachel and Michael are highly capable, experienced investors, and we are confident in their abilities to continue the good work that John led.”

Wood adds: “After 26 years in a demanding industry, I am looking forward to a fresh chapter in my life. I am grateful for the support given to me by clients over the years, but I will leave JOHCM knowing that the portfolio is in safe hands with Rachel and Michael at the helm.”
