The London Stock Exchange has gone live with its private placement platform, which aims to speed up the time companies take to raise capital.
Asset managers and private equity groups are among the firms that will be able to take minority stakes in more than 500 companies, the Financial Times reports.
The companies, with an average size of €80m, are part of the stock exchange’s accelerator programme – the Elite Deal Club, set up in 2012 and now covering 25 countries.
Financing will range from venture capital to private equity.
The platform is expected to speed up the capital raising process from 12-18 months to six months on average.
