Liontrust Asset Management, founded in 1994, is an independent fund management group whose shares are quoted on the London Stock Exchange. The firm manages UK, European and Asian equities for both professional and private investors.
The firm’s trading update to 31 March 2014 shows Liontrust’s assets under management rose by £574m over the financial year to reach £3.6bn. Over the 12-month period, the firm’s retail fund won £293m in new money, £160m of which were witnessed over the opening three months of 2014. Its institutional funds won £109m and its discretionary portfolio management service took £111m, while there were net outflows of £132m from offshore funds, to give total net inflows of £381m. Positive market and investment performance also added another £193m to AUM over the year.
Liontrust acquired North Investment Partners in October 2013 as part of a move into the multi-asset market. North Investment Partners chief executive John Husselbee was recruited to lead the new multi-asset team at Liontrust along with Paul Kim who joined as senior fund manager.
