Kleinwort Hambros has announced its chairman will exit in November when the consolidation of parent company Societe Generale’s private banking businesses completes.

Warwick Newbury will join multi-family office Sandaire as chairman, where he will replace its founder Alex Scott.

Deputy chairman Stuart Barnett will replace Newbury on 6 November.

Kleinwort Hambros is the private banking and wealth management business of Societe Generale in the UK, Channel Islands and Gibraltar. It manages £16bn in client assets.

Barnett joined Kleinwort Hambros, then named SG Hambros, in August 2014. He was previously a senior partner at Deloitte specialised in private banking.

Societe Generale announced in November it was merging SG Hambros and Kleinwort Benson.
