Kames Capital has promoted Phil Haworth, a 22-year veteran of the company, deputy head of equities.
In his new role, Haworth will support head of equities Stephen Adams, in running Kames’ 30-strong equities team, which covers multi-cap, smaller companies, absolute return, ethical and unconstrained investing.
He will continue to co-manage the £241m Kames UK Equity and £3.1bn Aegon UK Equity Pension funds and also contribute to Kames’ asset allocation research.
He will also continue in his research duties for the oil & gas and food producers sectors.
Haworth joined Kames as a graduate in 1995, when it was Aegon Asset Management.
Adams says Haworth’s appointment will support the team as it seeks to develop its capabilities both in the UK and in continental Europe.
