Former Standard Life Investments head of European High Yield David Ennett has joined Kames Capital.
Ennett announced his resignation from SLI yesterday, after six years at the firm.
At Kames he will be co-manager of the Kames High Yield Bond and Kames High Yield Global Bond funds, working alongside current co-manager Phil Milburn.
Milburn is re-joining the firm in September after a period of ill health.
Current co-manager on the funds Claire McGuckin has left the business, with Kames head of fixed income David Roberts covering the funds until Milburn and Ennett take up their positions in Q3.
Roberts says: “David is very experienced in the high yield market and we believe his investment philosophy is very much in line with that of Kames Capital. He will be an excellent fit for the business and both Phil and I are looking forward to working with him on his arrival.”
Following his departure from SLI, Fraser Duff will become lead fund manager of the Higher Income and European High Yield funds and co-manager of the Total Return Credit fund, which Ennett used to run.
Ennett joined SLI in 2010, before becoming sole manager of the Higher Income fund in 2012, which he had previously jointly run with Arthur Milson.
Before SLI, Ennett worked as deputy fund manager at Old Mutual Asset Managers on the Dynamic Bond fund.
