Kames Capital’s head of North American equities departs

US-USA-America-Rally-Flag-700.jpgKames Capital’s Marcus Chandler, head of North American equities, has left the group for personal reasons three years after joining the firm.

The £4.5m American equity fund, which Chandler had been running, was taken over by Carolyn Bell and Jon Parsons at the start of October.

Chandler was also co-manager of the £426m Kames Global Equity Income fund for less than a year. His co-manager Mark Peden will continue to run the fund with Douglas Scott, who also co-manages the UK Equity Income fund.

Over one year the American equity fund has returned 7.3 per cent against the 11 per cent sector average of the IA North America, FE data shows.

Adrian Cammidge, head of investment communications, says: “After three rewarding years at Kames Capital Marcus Chandler has left the firm in order to focus on opportunities in the London area and spend more time with his young family. We wish Marcus all the best for the future.”
