Kames Capital is a specialist investment management business focusing on fixed-income, equities, property and multi-asset investing. A member of the Aegon Group, it managed £55bn as at the end of December 2014 on behalf of UK and international clients. The firm offers a range of segregated and pooled portfolios. The pooled funds include institutional pension funds, UK-domiciled OEICs, Dublin-registered OEICs and specialist property funds.
Head of fixed income David Roberts says Kames is considering broadening its fixed-income range, eyeing the possible launch of a number of funds over the next few years, namely in government bonds and “exotic” assets. As at 31 March 2014, 57% of Kames’ assets were invested in fixed income.
Following Andrew Fleming’s departure in March 2013, co-head of fixed income Stephen Jones assumed the role of chief investment officer. Martin Davis was appointed chief executive of Kames Capital later that year.
