Jupiter has promoted Dermot Murphy as assistant fund manager of Ben Whitmore’s UK value strategies funds.
Murphy will help the team in portfolio construction and client communication as well as stock analysis for the Jupiter Income Trust and Jupiter UK Special Situations fund, as well as a number of segregated mandates.
Before the promotion, Murphy has been an equity analyst on the funds for two years. He joined the asset manager from Fidelity where he was a building materials analyst.
Jupiter chief investment officer Stephen Pearson says: “As Jupiter grows it is important that we build out support for our key strategies. Dermot has proved himself as a talented analyst and we are delighted to have the opportunity to extend his role to assistant fund manager.”
Last week, Jupiter appointed Harry Richards as assistant fund manager on the £2.5bn Jupiter Strategic Bond fund, as part of a number of appointments in the firm’s fixed income team.
