JP Morgan has launched a US long-short equity Ucits fund as part of its Sicav range.
The US Opportunistic Long-Short Equity fund targets lower volatility and flexible market exposure using short positions through derivatives when the market is down and long positions to track positive market performance.
The fund will be run by portfolio manager Rick Singh, currently JP Morgan Asset Management’s executive director and portfolio manager in the US equity group.
Singh will take a bottom-up investment approach and focus on high-conviction stock selection helped by the research team.
JP Morgan Asset Management head of European funds Massimo Greco says: “US equities investors are increasingly looking for a degree of downside protection. This strategy seeks to generate alpha whilst employing disciplined risk management, with greater transparency and liquidity relative to traditional hedge fund vehicles.”
The fund has fees of 0.75 per cent.
