Principal Global Investors has nabbed Janus Capital sales director Alan Glendon as the asset manager merges with Henderson Global Investors this week.
Glendon, who reports to global head of wealth advisory services Nick Lyster, will be director of UK fund distribution and will work with private banks, wealth managers, family offices and brokers in UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands.
Glendon says: “Principal’s range of specialised asset classes and strategies housed within a multi-boutique structure responds well to the needs and wants of wealth managers and their clients.
“Its established Ireland-domiciled fund range can be of particular interest for those who are expanding their sub-advisory services to offer better portfolio solutions for its clients.”
Lyster says they are seeing increasing interest from wealth managers in the UK and Ireland for their funds and the region, along with the Channel Islands, is an important market for their funds platform.
Before joining Janus in 2013, Glendon was head of UK discretionary sales for Premier Asset Management and previously worked for F&C Asset Management and Investec.
Janus and Henderson completed their merger, which takes assets to $331bn, this week.
