Lockington comes from Duff & Phelps, where he valued intangible assets and businesses, while Raikes comes from financial adviser Envestors, where he worked on unquoted companies.
Crabtree has biotechnology and pharmaceutical experience, having been an analyst at Panmure Gordon, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan previously.
Woodford Investment Management has also hired three people to boost its operations team.
New hire Mohammad Sohail will work with head of trading Grant Wentzel. James Coats and Dominic Eccles have also joined the operations team.
“The new roles are a reflection of an evolving, ambitious business that is growing significantly,” says Craig Newman, chief executive at Woodford.
“The investment analyst roles will provide valuable resource for our fund managers, while the operational hires are further evidence of our commitment to building a fund management company with a cutting-edge infrastructure.”
