Tilney Bestinvest has compiled a list of managers with some of the best track records in excess of 25 years.

Here we examine which fund managers have made the top five where they have the longest identifiable track records in the same sectors using according to Tilney Bestinvest data.

5. Adrian Frost – Artemis

Frost currently manages the Artemis Income fund and has a 25.6 year track record. He has beaten the market for 51 per cent of the months during that time.

 

4. Paul Mumford – Cavendish

Mumford manages the Cavendish Opportunities fund and has a 26.4 year track record. During those years Mumford has outperformed the benchmark 53 per cent of the time.

 

3. Andrew Green – GAM

GAM’s Andrew Green has the longest track record in the top five having been in the Global sector for 29.9 years. Green has beaten the market 53 per cent of those years and currently manages the GAM Global Diversified fund.

 

2. Nigel Thomas – Axa Framlington

Axa Framlington UK Select Opportunities fund manager Thomas has a 27.3 year track record and has outperformed markets for 54 per cent of that period.

 

1. Hugh Young – Aberdeen

Young’s track record extends to 29.3 years and he has outperformed the Asia Pacific Inc Japan benchmark 58 per cent of that time making him the most consistent veteran in the list.
