State Street cuts fees on passive range

State Street Global Advisors has cut fees across 15 tracker products whilst re-domiciling its French ETF range to Ireland.

State Street says the cuts have an average drop of 20 per cent and says its now Ireland-based ETF range will benefit from reduced costs and a reduced bid-offer spread.

The changes will take effect from 1 October.

State Street head of EMEA SPDR ETFs Alexis Marinof says: “In recent times, we have seen the popularity of ETFs as an asset class increase considerably, moving into the mainstream investment arena as a result of the changing needs of investors in the current economic environment.”

The move is the latest cut in tracker fees with Vanguard, Architas and Fidelity all announcing similar moves.
