Octopus Investments has appointed Axa Elevate business development director Shaun Sandiford as head of platform distribution.
Sandiford will be responsible for promoting the Octopus alternative investment products to UK retail platforms.
The news comes as Octopus signs an agreement with Novia to offer Octopus’s Inheritance Tax Service on the platform.
Octopus says this marks the first time its IHT products have been made available via platform. Octopus ITS looks to deliver IHT relief after two years and allows investors access to their capital via investment in companies that qualify for business property relief.
Sandiford says: “I am looking forward to taking the company forward and building upon existing relationships in order to ensure that we can meet the demands of our advisers and make more of our products available on platform.”
Octopus sales director Neil Buckland says: “It is clear that RDR has really focused advisers’ attention on areas where they can add real value for their clients – such as tax planning – and so there is a greater requirement for us to support advisers through allowing their clients access to products and services that can help them meet their planning goals.”
