Technology firm Novastone has appointed Barlcays Wealth managing director Andrew Hodson as its new director.
Hodson has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and private banking and has also invested in a variety of technology start-up businesses.
In his new role at Novastone Hodson will work on the firm’s latest feature, WealthChat, on the firm’s platform which will allow advisers and clients to communicate and share content across devices using their existing platform.
The firm has also hired fashion brand Burberry’s Craig Crawford to expand the business in new markets.
Crawford was formerly vice president of IT strategy, architecture and relationship at Burberry. He has also already worked on Novastone’s first product Shopchat which operated on a similar basis to Wealthchat but was aimed instead at leading retailers.
Novastone founder and chief executive officer Douglas Orr says: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew and Craig. They are both leaders in their field and with their financial backing and expertise I believe that novastone is ideally positioned as we diversify into new advisory markets.”
