Bowers will continue his current work as head of product, but his newly expanded role means he will oversee worldwide product development, customer strategy and global distribution.
He reports global distribution head Phil Wagstaff.
Meanwhile, Dyble has been appointed product development head, reporting to Bowers.
Dyble used to be head of product development and chief operating officer at Cazenove Capital Management.
Bowers says: “The fact that we have attracted someone of Ian’s calibre to lead our product development function is testament to Henderson’s growing prominence in the global investment market.
“Ian has proven credentials and an exceptional reputation in the market and this will help us to further develop our already strong platform to the benefit of all our clients.”
Wagstaff says Bowers’ promotion is “well deserved”.
“He has successfully managed product consolidation projects post the acquisitions of New Star and Gartmore and enabled to us to successfully reshape our global product offering.
The firm’s distribution footprint has been building rapidly in the past year, while “substantial” assets have been attracted, he adds.
“We have launched a number of new strategies over recent years and are continuing to broaden our alternatives capabilities globally.”
