Tigue is set to retire from F&C Asset Management effective today, having stepped down as manager of the Foreign & Colonial trust back in March 2014 after 17 years running the investment company.
In a statement issued today the board of Monks says Tigue will now join the company, managed by Baillie Gifford, as a non-executive director.
Tigues is also currently chairman of the Battle against Cancer investment trust and director of the Mercantile and Graphite Enterprise investment companies.
Monks chairman James Ferguson says: “I am delighted that Mr Tigue has agreed to join our Board. He has extensive experience of the management of investment trusts.”
