Calastone takes on BNY transfer head

Fund re-registration firm Calastone has appointed BNY Mellon head of transfer agency for EMEA and Asia Pacific Jon Willis as chief commercial officer.

Willis will report into Calastone chief executive Julien Hammerson and takes up the role on 1 October.

He currently chairs UK industry body for transfer agents and platforms the TA Forum and also sits on the board of the Tisa Exchange industry re-registration group.

Hammerson says: “Our focus is to help firms respond to industry and regulatory changes; help them take advantage of the opportunities of scale in order to grow; and to continue to innovate and address some of the functional inefficiencies which exist today.”

Willis says: “From my very first encounter with Calastone when it was launched, I have been a steadfast supporter of its efforts to help the fund industry reduce its costs and risks, and reap the benefits of interoperable automated processing.”
