Aviva Investors has promoted David Lis to the new role of equities and multi-asset chief investment officer.
Lis has worked at the asset manager since 1997, taking many top-level fund management jobs, including head of equities, a role he retains.
Shahid Ikram used to be chief investment officer for all asset classes before he left the business in February owing to restructuring.
Soon after his departure, Aviva Investors Europe chief executive Jean-François Boulier took responsibility for the fixed income side of the role.
Lis takes over the equities and multi-asset duties and will join the executive committee which reports directly to chief executive Euan Munro.
Munro says he is pleased to appoint Lis to the “important new role”.
“With a strong track record and a wealth of fund management experience, David’s expertise will be invaluable as we continue to extend our investment capabilities internationally and deliver outcome-oriented solutions.”
Lis runs the £177.6m Aviva Investors UK Growth fund and shares control of the £83.9m UK Smaller Companies fund with Trevor Green. He was named on both funds in November.
