Aviva Investors has added three more people to its multi-asset team, after several recent hires at its newly formed multi-strategy absolute return range.
Wei-Jin Tan, formerly of State Street Global Investors, will join Aviva next month.
He will help multi-asset team head of investment risk and portfolio construction Trevor Leydon, who was promoted internally to the role earlier this month.
The team’s new head of equity derivatives, Ben Maynard, has been brought in from Aviva’s fixed income desk. He is responsible for coming up with investment ideas and structuring positions to give the best outcomes.
Aviva hired Mary Nicola as an investment strategist based in Singapore, where she will cover Asian equities, fixed income and currency markets.
In November, former Standard Life Gars investment director Ian Pizer takes his senior multi-asset portfolio manager with the team. His departure from the blockbuster strategy was announced in May.
Aviva head of multi-assets Peter Fitzgerald says the expertise brought in to the newly enlarged team will be “invaluable” for the strategy’s growth.
“These new additions to the team come from a range of disciplines spanning all major asset classes and combine a breadth of experience with strong technical skills,” he adds.
