Distribution Technology enlists McDonnell for sales and marketing role

Financial planning and practice management technology company Distribution Technology has hired Rob McDonnell as its sales and marketing director.

McDonnell moves from Cofunds, where he was a senior account manager looking after the firm’s largest retail accounts. He worked for the company for 12 years, while before that he was at Invesco Perpetual.

His new role at DT makes him responsible for growing revenue across the company’s business with advisors, asset managers and platforms.

Distribution Technology chief executive Ben Goss says the firm’s ongoing revenues have risen significantly over the past three years.

“Now is the right time to expand our senior team with a focus on sales and marketing. Rob is highly respected in our market place and will I am sure have a really positive impact on an already successful team,” he says.

McDonnell says: “DT has been one of the great success stories in our industry over the last few years and I cannot wait to start work with the team and DT’s clients.”

More than 3,000 advisers use DT’s Dynamic Planner to profile, plan and manage wealth for clients.

DT works with more than 60 asset management firms to risk profile over 600 of their funds, representing more than £50bn in invested assets and helping advisers assess their suitability.
