Legg Mason’s ClearBridge appoints co-chief investment officer

Legg Mason subsidiary ClearBridge Advisors has appointed Scott Glasser as co-chief investment officer alongside current CIO Hersh Cohen.

The subsidiary is also set to be renamed as ClearBridge Investments from January 2013.

Glasser will oversee the firm’s investment strategies alongside Cohen in his new role, having previously worked together as co-managers on its Appreciation strategy between 1995 and 2009.

ClearBridge president Terrence Murphy says: “Scott has been an important mentor for our investment staff, and has been instrumental in strengthening the firm’s investment discipline.

“He is a critical part of our leadership team and will be a driving force in our future success.”
