Ex-L&G chief exec joins Barclays board

Former Legal & General group chief executive Tim Breedon is to join Barclays as a non-executive director from 1 November.

Breedon stepped down as L&G group chief executive and from the board at the end of June, following a 25-year career at the insurance and investment group.

He is also a former chairman of the Association of British Insurers and held directorships at the Investment Management Association and the Financial Reporting Council.

Barclays chairman David Walker welcomed the appointment of Breedon as a a non-executive director, adding: “He brings extensive knowledge and experience of financial services, regulation and customer focus to the Barclays boards.”
