Sarasin & Partners has become the latest fund firm to introduce risk-ratings for its funds.
The fund firm has teamed up with Distribution Technology to risk rate its Global Diversified fund of funds, Global Equity fund of funds and its income fund.
Distribution Technology’s rating system rates funds from one to 10 on the volatility scale, with 10 being the most volatile. The funds will be rated three, four and five respectively.
The income fund has been given a risk-rating of 3, while the Global Diversified and Global Equity fund of funds have ratings of 5 and 7 respectively.
Sarasin & Partners head of wholesale Andrew Thompson says: “We recognise the increasing importance attached to respected third party risk profiling of funds and the reassurance this provides to clients of financial advisers when calculating and recommending the suitability of different funds.”
