Hargreaves Lansdown is to be included in the MSCI World index, after being added to the MSCI UK index in the latest semi-annual review by the index provider.
The Bristol-based company, which was promoted to the FTSE 100 index last year, has been included at the expense of alternative investment manager Man Group and miner Lonmin, which have been removed from the benchmark index.
Both Man Group and Lonmin have been included in the MSCI UK Small Cap index, with Hargreaves Lansdown moving in the opposite direction.
According to MSCI, 51 securities have been added to its Global Standard Indices, while 61 have been deleted from the MSCI ACWI index in its latest review.
The largest additions to the MSCI World Index by market capitalisation are Hong Kong property developer Swire Properties, US housebuilder Lennar Corp and Dutch cable company Ziggo.
The changes will take effect at the end of November.
