Goldman Sachs Asset Management has hired former Aviva Investors head of strategic alliances Malcolm Mackenzie as head of advisory sales, Fundweb.co.uk understands.
He joins the firm in January in the new role, which Fundweb.co.uk understands is part of the manager’s push into the intermediary market.
Last month, Fundweb.co.uk revealed that he was to leave Aviva Investors where he worked for nearly six years. In a restructure of the sales team, we wrote that Mackenzie is to leave the firm along with another sales manager, Nick Hendy.
Mackenzie will work alongside Richard Pursglove, former head of UK retail at Gartmore, who joined Goldman Sachs around a year ago to head up third party distribution at the asset manager.
He leads a team of nine and aims to build out the company’s UK third party distribution business.
