The FTSE 100 shows little reaction to yesterday’s Autumn Statement, as an intial drop-off on the open was quickly recovered.
Shire was the biggest initial riser, up 0.39% to reach 2,053.00. Meggitt closely followed with a 0.32% rise to 374.80. GlaxoSmithKline was up by 0.29% to 1,371.00 followed by Randgold Resources which rose by 0.15% to 6,610.00.
Leading the declines was Cairn Energy which fell by 5.42% within an hour of opening to 260.10. Vedanta fell by 3.36% to 964.00, Kazakhmys by 2.94% to 843.00, Eurasian by 2.92% 614.50 and British American tobacco was up 0.40% to reach 2895.50.
