Majority of advisers unlikely to change platforms in 2012

The majority of advisers are unlikely to change platforms over the next year, according to research from The Platforum.

The Platforum found that 87% of advisers polled during the first quarter of 2012 did not believe they would switch platforms.

The research found that 44% were “very unlikely”, while a further 43% were “unlikely”. Just 11% thought they may change during 2012.

The proportion of advisers likely to switch dropped from 30% in the third quarter of 2011 to 10% in the latest survey. (article continues below)

In its latest adviser platform guide, The Platforum said the trend posed a “growing challenge” to new entrants in the platform market.
