Fundweb readers avoid ethical funds

Advisers do not believe ethical funds are a wise investment choice for investors, the latest poll has found.

Asked whether ethical funds were a wise investment, 61.4% said they did not see the value in the funds.

The biggest proportion thought that performance was too much of an issue, with 31.8% citing this as a concern.

A further 29.6% thought there were better ways of making a difference than investing in ethical funds.

However, 28.5% thought ethical funds allowed investors to invest with a clear conscience, while the remaining 9.8% thought they helped promote good corporate governance.
