FTSE 100 CLOSE: Copper miner Kazakhmys drops after downgrades

Kazakh copper miner Kazakhmys has dropped on news of a downgrade by Numis Securities and Société Générale.

The miner saw its share price fall by 5.8% on the news, dropping to 1,000p. Meanwhile, Admiral slipped 3.4% to 1,059p, as data provider Experian decreased by 2.4% to 932.5p.

Elsewhere, engineer GKN and commodities trader Glencore International both dropped by 1.% to 218.4p and by 1.7% to 420p, respectively.

The biggest riser was International Power, which climbed 4.4% higher to 365.5p at the close of trading.

Essar Energy rose 4% to 113.8p, while listed hedge fund Man Group increased by 3.4% to 152.5p. (article continues below)

British Airways parent International Consolidated Airlines Group added 2.8% to its share price, up to 167.3p, as Lloyds Banking Group climbed 2.5% higher to 35.64p.
