Maarten Slendebroek, outgoing head of international retail at BlackRock, is to join the board of Jupiter Fund Management as distribution and strategy director.
Slendebroek is expected to join during the second half of 2012 in the new role, subject to regulatory approval.
The new appointee will report to Edward Bonham Carter, group chief executive, and will be responsible for building on its distribution business in the UK and abroad.
Maarten Slendebroek says: “Jupiter has a well-deserved reputation as one of the UK’s leading retail asset managers and is in an exciting phase of deepening its presence in existing and new markets.”
The announcement follows earlier news of Slendebroek’s impending departure from BlackRock and the appointment of Alex Hoctor-Duncan as head of retail for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
