Aberdeen Asset Management is set to join peers Schroders, Ashmore and Man Group in the FTSE 100 index in the latest review of the UK indices.
It will be joined by chemicals company Croda International, replacing Cairn Energy and Essar Energy.
The changes, part of the FTSE quarterly review, were agreed by its Europe/Middle East/Africa regional committee. (article continues below)
The changes will be applied after the close of business on March 16, and take effect from March 19.
