Mirabaud Asset Management has appointed Fatima Luis as senior high yield specialist to support Andrew Lake, manager of the group’s Global High Yield Bonds fund.
The £116.3m portfolio was launched for the ex-Aviva high yield head Lake on 1 February.
Luis departed from F&C Asset Management last year, where she was co-head of global high yield. While there, she managed the firm’s Maximum Income Bond fund since its inception in 2000. She also co-managed the F&C Strategic Bond and Extra Income Bond funds.
Lake says: “Having someone of Fatima’s calibre and experience will be invaluable and will greatly enhance the research capability of the Global High Yield Bonds team.
“Our flexible approach aims to seek out and exploit relative value opportunities across markets, sectors and individual companies. All of this is encompassed by a thorough analysis and ongoing monitoring of risk by the various high yield specialists across Mirabaud.”
Bestinvest managing director Jason Hollands says: “Fatima previously worked closely with Lake at F&C. In my view Mirabaud is clearly a group to watch in the wholesale space. This latest hire is further evidence of its ambitions and commitment to expand its fund management presence in London.”
